So what will it be? Tea and cake or death ARCs? (Keep reading... there are other prizes if you already have an Advance Review Copy!)
Everyone knows I love cake... and cupcakes... ok fine, dessert in general. With ice cream on top. And the fairies from EYES LIKE STARS share my passion.
So it's time to have a little contest, CakeWrecks style:
One contest entry: Tell us (in 100 words or less) how Peaseblossom, Moth, Cobweb, and Mustardseed wrecked your cake, and yes, this theme is open to interpretation.
Four contest entries if you bake a cake and wreck it fairy-style, sending in a picture as evidence of their carnage. This can be done in conjunction with the story entry, for a total of five entries.
Ten contest entries if you bake a cake and wreck it fairy-style ON VIDEO (as close to one minute as you can get) then upload said video on YouTube and send us the link.
Bonus contest entry: For reposting about this contest on your blog or journal
How to Enter:
Send your short stories, your pictures (as links or attachments,) your videos (YouTube links only, please) and your links to the reposted contest information to contest+2@theatre-illuminata.com with the subject header "FAIRY CAKE-WRECKING CONTEST"
International entries, please also include "International" in your subject line.
Contest closes to entries next Monday, May 11th, midnight, Pacific Standard Time.Contest closes Tuesday, May 19th, at 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time
Winning entries and honorable mentions will be posted here with much fanfare, frosting, and glitter.
Prizes:
Your choice of an ARC copy of EYES LIKE STARS or
a Théâtre Illuminata Prize Package, featuring:
Some of Bertie's Neon Hair Attachments (in Cobalt Flame, Egyptian Plum, Green Room, Shocking Pink, Fizzy Orange Drink, or Pandemonium Yellow):
One of these miniature pirate rubber ducks:
One of these silver fairy charms:
Candy (not necessarily THIS candy, although Pixie Stix are certainly thematically-appropriate!)
And FIVE theater-themed BPAL Imps Ears, one each of:
Fae - A brilliant, ethereal scent: white musk, bergamot, heliotrope, peach and oakmoss.
Jolly Roger - Sea spray with an undercurrent of leather, Bay Rum, and salty, dry woods.
Tempest - A crisp ozone-tinged breeze. The scent of the first gentle rain before the storm.
Ophelia - Wistful and vulnerable: lotus, water blossom ivy, stargazer lily and white rose.
Belle Epoque - Sweet opium, Lily of the Valley, vanilla, mandarin and red sandalwood.
Now get to writin', bakin', an' wreckin'!
